For model year 2011, the BMW 135i receives the all-new "N55" inline-6 engine. The sporty 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission from the Z4 Roadster replaces the 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. The newest BMW inline-6 engine produces the same at 300hp and 300 lb-ft of the previous N54, but the fuel efficiency improves and the emissions are reduced. The 128i Coupe and Convertible continue to be powered by the 3.0-liter, 230 horsepower inline 6-cylinder engine that generates 200 lb-ft of torque.
