The Grand Marquis is the only vehicle in its class with a standard V8 engine - the 4.6-liter single-overhead-cam V8 produces 224 horsepower at 4,800 rpm. The 4.6-liter V8 is a flex-fuel engine, capable of running on gasoline, E85 Ethanol or any mix in between.

All Grand Marquis models use a four-speed automatic transmission with electronic automatic overdrive.
