The Toyota Yaris Sedan and Liftback models combined European-influenced design with stellar fuel economy and a large array of safety features. The standard Toyota Star Safety System™ includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. In every Yaris model, a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) produces 106 hp at 6,000 rpm and 103 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm. A broad torque curve makes Yaris feel highly responsive and engaging in everyday driving. The optional four-speed automatic transmission features uphill/downhill shift logic to reduce gear "hunting" for smooth performance when driving in hills.
