The Passat continues as the U.S. market's most accessible German-made sedan and wagon offerings with segment-leading room, comfort, sophisticated technology and engineering.

The base engine is a 200-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder available with six-speed manual or six-speed automatic Tiptronic® transmission. An optional 3.6-liter narrow angle six-cylinder engine produces 280 hp and comes mated with the six-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission. Volkswagen's 4Motion® full-time all-wheel drive is standard on the 3.6L version.

The Passat sedan and wagon are offered in four models. An advanced version of the proven, front independent McPherson strut architecture combined with rear multi-link system provides great driving dynamics and produces a low tendency to allow body roll, resulting in stable and comfortable ride quality.
