This is my car, except mine is orange This is what the Orange looks like Note the Great looking interior. It's just missing the 70's faux wood paneling seen in the originals. This does the car justice even though it's a custom, the doors are much like the original Another custom, the only way you'll see this as a convertible. It's an SMS custom. Steve M. Saleen. Hmmm-looks like a 1971 Roadrunner front end. If Chrysler turns itself around, they should offer Plum Crazy. I got this from the Dodge website. Could a Sassy Grass green be far behind? Okay, let's clear this up. This is the retro package. The 70's badging will be included! a police modification This is the SE-you can tell by lack of any Spoiler another unofficial Plum Crazy The 5.7L Hemi seen on the R/T. It's equivalent to the 1970's 350 cid ( 440 Magnum ). note the the fully loaded interior of a stock Challenger Another SE Challenger. Even the base model looks nice. Another SE. Note the regular gas cap. The SE does not offer the chrome fuel cap. Another view of the SMS. They build it from a base Challenger. The SMS Custom interior A custom GTX Challenger with the Go Wing The T-handle shifter. Mopar makes official accessories A side view of the custom GTX Challenger An original 1970 Challenger The GTX custom. The Go Wing is a Mopar accessory A custom grille The GTX again another classic a nice T/A Rear view of the classic. I like how they kept the full tail lights The HXC Performance custom 'Cuda conversion The HXC 'Cuda will be based on the 1971 model The HXC in Plum Crazy another 'Cuda concept rendering. Yet another 'Cuda concept This is a Reston concept. Alias Studio tools 2008 was used Another 'Cuda concept I like the '71 look on this one. This is the concept we've seen on Youtube I sat in this at the show! Its hard to get in/ out!! But, let's be honest.. it's worth the effort!!!! Viper front end. No-that's not me, I liked the pic because I've never seen the yellow stripes Looks like a big, bad bumblebee Challengers, Chargers and Mustangs look great in orange Or yellow, for that matter A possible return of the Boss 302?? About Me

Dodgeboy

Big time ford and Dodge fan along with muscle cars from 65-73. I also like exoctics. ( Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, Spykers, Lotus, higher end Audis. )
I am also a lucky owner of a 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T. Yes,
it is Hemi Orange. I love to discuss cars, and find it is also a great way to meet new people. And yes, I am hyped up over the Challenger.

For those who are interested, here are some photos I was able to grab ( I have yet to pick up a digital camera ) online. This is it...
this is what it looks like in Hemi orange and compared with the 1970 year. As you can see, it's bigger than the original. You can't tell from the photo, but trust me, it's also wider as well.
The inside is faithful to the original as well, but the seats are
not the old 1970 era seats, where it was pretty much a vinyl slab withfor a seatback. The 2009 seats are well designed and are comfortable. Some photos you see here are fully loaded examples. I did not opt for the navigation system in mine, but you can see it here.

I have had people even tell me it looks like the 1971 'Cuda.

I have more info which should help as there are quite a few rumors out there regarding this car.

.They will be adding an aditional color, B5 Blue later on in the year along with a "retro" package to include body side T/A
stripes and the 1970 script badging. You can view the photo here. Some photos may be blurry.

.There is now a yellow Challenger, the photo can be viewed here or on the official Dodge website. If this car does well, and Chrysler is still around, they may do an official Plum Crazy. The one you see here is an SMS custom.

.There are a ton of mods and custom vehicles out there, from
body shells to be used for racing to an " unofficial" convertible mod. Due to the recent automaker issues, the "official" convertible has been scapped. This was also due to the fact that they did not design this car with a convertible in mind and would have to come up with money to do a "clean sheet" design. Note the Police mod.

.Yes, I have seen the 'Cuda modifications. As of now, it's all just custom cars and computer designs. I have not seen or heard anything official from dodge. But HXC Performance is building some 'Cuda mods. Based on the 1971 year, it will be tweaked to have 475 hp.

. Mr Norm is planning a 900hp Challenger and a Super 'Cuda
which will ( or was, depending on how old this news is ) come out at SEMA

.I believe they are coming out with the 396 engine.

. Dodge offers the Super Trac Pac as an option.

.Mopar has aftermarket acessories such as shifters, shaker hood mods, and the Go Wing. Note the Custom GTX Challenger shown here. It has a Go Wing.

Just an aside , but if you are on a budget, you can buy the SE
for around 21K ( give or take ). The car looks great no matter what. I will say that the performance reviews in Motor Trend
were not kind to the 4 speed automatic nor the car's suspension. However, I think a 6 cylinder ( which gets better gas mileage ) may be the "volume seller" that can justify this car for a while.God knows they did it for the Charger. Hopefully, if Dodge is still around, they take a note from GM ( heh heh, not concerning financial matters )
and tweak the engine to 300hp like the base Camaro ( also
a great looking car )

Here are some photos of the Challenger, the classic, and the 'Cuda concept. I even have some Viper and Mustang pictures too.
Enjoy the photos. This is just for enjoyment....The NY auto show only comes once a year..

UPDATE APRIL 10, 2009:
I just came from the first day of the auto show and I have to say there was a good turnout of people. The exhibits were pretty well done, especially the Ford exhibit...I recommend the "Taurus Theater" and the"Mustang Alley" display. Dodge rolled out their lineup and our favorite muscle cars, all in Hemi orange were there: the latest Viper, the Charger "Superbee" version ( complete with "bumblebee" decal, and of course, the Challenger. I will tell you now, the classic 70's badging on the R/T was just for the show, as it has not officially released as an option yet. The SMS Challenger was present at the SMS display, along with some beautiful exotics. I won't spoil that for you, you'll have to see for yourself.

Ford, Lincoln and Mercury have some great cars out/about to come out: the 2010 Mustang, the MK series, the Flex, to name a few...again, Ford is better off than the others, so I guess they have some money. Nicely done. GM had the Corvette Z06, the 600+ hp one. Beautiful car. Awesome inteior. Seems the Corvettes get better and better. The Camaro was there of course, the RS and the SS versions. Great looking car, but I have a critique: The interior, although well thought out, looked and felt cheap. Not good for the SS. I noticed several GM cars had "cheap" interiors. I like GM, don't get me wrong, but it seems they need to work on consistency.
If they can remain in the game, they should give the Camaro 's interior a little touchup. It really is a great looking car, so it deserves a chance to succeed, as does the Solstice, and the G8. I can tell you one thing: I heard they will not make the Camaro in Yellow, as we all saw in Transformers. Straight from a GM rep. Why? Never got a reason because of the crowd and all. But they did have a great looking Hugger Orange version.

No word from Ford on any Boss 302 redo, but the live axle will stay with us. A Ford rep told me Mustang fans love the
driving challenge the Live axle presents while driving and to overcome it is seen as an accomplishment.

April 11:
Hey-it's great to see some fans. Glad to have you all and I will enjoy browsing your garages too. I enjoy any exchange about cars. MY Email is CAPTNA812@AOL.COM. Drop a line. Maybe I'll throw in a few Charger and 'Vette pics to bring in some more people. Maybe a BMW or two while I'm at it...
Why not? We have until the 19th.....

Update: April 13
I have some new pics up, with more to come. I found out the
2011 Charger design is changing, and there are quite a few renderings online that show peopl want the 1969 look, or at least a 2 door version. I'll browse the forums for information
to pass along as well as any Challenger, Camaro, or 'Vette
info. And for all you BMW na dexotic fans, don't worry, I'll try to get some pics up for you guys. Untill then....enjoy!
