Get Your REAL ID at the New York Auto Show

Starting May 7, 2025, a REAL ID is required to board domestic flights or enter certain federal buildings — and the New York Auto Show makes it easy to get one.

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles offers an on-site location where New York residents can apply for a REAL ID with no appointment needed. It’s a fast, convenient way to cross this important task off your list while enjoying everything the Auto Show has to offer.*

What to Bring:

1. Proof of Social Security Number
(One of the following:)

• Original Social Security Card

• 1099 or 1098 tax form

• Pay stub displaying your full Social Security Number

2. Two Proofs of New York State Residency
(Examples, dated within the last 12 months:)

• Utility bill

• Bank statement

• Postmarked mail

3. Proof of Lawful Status in the U.S.
(Acceptable documents:)

• Valid U.S. Passport

• U.S. Birth Certificate

• Certificate of Naturalization
