What to See at the Kia Booth at the 2026 New York Auto Show
Kia’s display at the New York International Auto Show puts a spotlight on design, with a first look at the next-generation Seltos leading the way.
Here’s what to expect from Kia at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
2027 Kia Seltos (Global Debut)
The all-new 2027 Kia Seltos is larger, wider, and roomier than the previous generation, delivering more legroom, headroom, shoulder, and hip room to give more passenger and cargo room than ever before. With multiple powertrain options, including a choice of 2.0-liter normally aspirated, 1.6-liter turbocharged, and new HEV, Seltos is not to be missed.
This marks the second generation of the compact SUV, and it introduces a noticeably bolder design. Early previews show a more upright, squared-off shape with sharper lines and a stronger overall presence compared to the current model.
Signature lighting elements, including distinctive LED daytime running lights, and details like flush door handles give the new Seltos a more modern and refined look. It also visually aligns with newer Kia SUVs, such as the Kia Telluride, signaling a consistent design direction across the lineup.
Kia’s “Opposites United” Design in Action
The new Seltos continues Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, which blends contrasting elements like ruggedness and refinement.
At the show, that translates into a compact SUV that aims to balance everyday usability with a more assertive, almost premium-inspired design. The proportions remain practical for city driving, but the updated styling gives it a more confident stance on the show floor.
What It Means for the Compact SUV Segment
With the new Seltos, Kia is aiming to raise expectations in the compact CUV category. While full specifications will be announced at the show, the redesign signals a focus on stronger visual identity, improved versatility, and features that appeal to both daily commuters and weekend drivers.
For attendees, this is an early look at where Kia is heading with one of its most accessible and popular SUV nameplates.
Kia EV3
Making its North American debut, the all-new EV3 is one of Kia’s most accessible electric SUVs to date. With an estimated range of up to 320 miles on select trims and fast-charging capability, it brings EV driving into a smaller, more approachable format. Inside, a wide digital display and flexible cargo space reflect its everyday focus.
The all-new 2027 Kia EV3 made its North American debut today at the New York International Auto Show, setting a new benchmark as the most attainable model in Kia’s growing electric vehicle lineup. The EV3 is an entry EV SUV designed to deliver efficient, all-electric performance with a compact footprint.
“The Kia EV3 represents a bold step forward in our commitment to making electric mobility accessible to more Americans,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America. “With its striking geometric design inspired by EV9, advanced technology, and spacious interior, the EV3 brings the innovation of our EV lineup into an entry EV SUV tailored for the way U.S. customers live, work, and travel.”
The EV3 is tailored to meet the lifestyle and usage of both younger and older buyers, from millennials to baby boomers, centered on universally appealing attributes such as affordability, utility, and maneuverability. It has an estimated 320 miles of range on certain trims with fast charging capabilities. It will go on sale in late 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to the EV3’s on-sale date.
