The New York International Auto Show is easy to get to from anywhere in the tri-state area. There are many parking facilities in the area, plus mass transit (Metro North, LIRR, NY Waterway Ferry, Subways and Buses).

The NYC public transportation fare is $3.00. The subways accept MetroCards. With MetroCards you can transfer from subway to bus and bus to subway for one fare. MetroCards are available at the Javits Center as well as local stores.

M34: Runs east/west on 34th Street. Stops on 11th Avenue outside the Javits Center and at Penn Station.
M42: Runs east/west on 42nd street. Stops directly outside the Javits Center and at Grand Central Station.
New Jersey Transit and other buses arrive at the Port Authority terminal at 42nd Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. The M42 will bring you from there to the Javits Center.

Academy Bus operates weekday and weekend service to New York’s Port Authority from multiple locations in Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex and Burlington counties, including: Route 9, Lakewood/Old Bridge Route 36, Route 35, Long Branch , Westampton, Hightstown, Point Pleasant/Shore Points, PNC Bank Arts Center, Jackson, Sayreville and Forked River.

Newark International Airport – The set fare from New York City to Newark International Airport is the regular metered rate of fare, plus a $17.50 surcharge, plus all tolls going to and returning from the airport.
John F. Kennedy International Airport – The TLC has established a “Flat Fare” program for trips from JFK to Manhattan. The flat fare is $52.00 plus any tolls. A NY State Tax Surcharge of $.50 will be added to each trip. The reverse is not true, however, as there is no set fare to JFK from any point in New York City. The metered rate applies.
LaGuardia International Airport – There is no set fare for trips to and from LaGuardia International Airport. The regular metered rate of fare, as is displayed below, applies in all cases.
New York State Tax Surcharge of $.50 per ride
$2.50 upon entry
$.50 for each additional unit
$.50 night surcharge after 8:00PM and prior to 6:00AM
$1.00 peak hour Weekday Surcharge Monday – Friday after 4:00 PM & before 8:00 PM
Congestion surcharge may vary based on location. There is no extra charge for extra passengers, luggage or bags, or paying by credit card.
The unit of fare is: one-fifth of a mile, when the taxicab is traveling at 6 miles an hour or more; or 60 seconds when not in motion or traveling at less than 6 miles per hour
The taximeter shall combine fractional measures of distance and time in accruing a unit of fare. Any combination of distance or time shall be computed by the taximeter in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The fare shall include per-assessment of the unit currently being accrued; the amount due may therefore include a full unit charge for a final, fractional unit.
Different variables such as heavy traffic and tolls should be taken into account in gauging the final cost of your trip.

From Grand Central Terminal take the 7 Train line to the 34th St Hudson Yards stop or the westbound M42 bus (42nd Street between Park and Vanderbilt Avenues) to 11th Avenue and walk two blocks to the Javits Center. (Bus fare is NOT included in package price).

Take Long Island Rail Road to Penn Station
From Penn Station take the 7 Train line to the 34th St Hudson Yards stop or the westbound M42 bus (42nd Street between Park and Vanderbilt Avenues) to 11th Avenue and walk two blocks to the Javits Center. (Bus fare is NOT included in package price).
Walking: Use Penn 34th St. Exit; walk west to 11th Ave.
Bus: From the corner of 34th St. and 8th Ave., use the M34 westbound to Javits Center.

The NY Waterway Ferry is the fastest and easiest way to get to the Jacob Javits Center from New Jersey. The combo ticket includes a roundtrip ferry ride from Port Imperial in Weehawken, NJ to the Midtown/West 39th Street Ferry Terminal. The NY Waterway Shuttle will then drop you off directly in front of the Javits Center.
